Valentine’s Day S’more Bark

If you are looking for a special treat to make for your sweetie for Valentine’s Day, give this recipe a try. This Valentine S’more Bark has many different flavors and textures and will be enjoyed by all your sweethearts, whether they are 2 or 92.

This recipe is so easy to make the entire family can join in the fun. Even the youngest members can help layer the graham crackers in the pan and sprinkle the marshmallows and candy pieces on top of it.

How to Make Valentine S’more Bark

Gather together these ingredients, a cookie sheet, some foil, a pot, and a wooden spoon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 sticks of butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar or brown sugar (either one will work)
  • 12 whole graham crackers
  • 24 – 36 miniature Hershey candy bars or 3 full-sized Hershey candy bars
  • 1 bag of miniature marshmallows (you will use about half of the bag)
  • Valentine’s Day M&Ms (choose your favorite flavor)

Directions:

The first thing you need to do is preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Line a standard-sized cookie sheet with foil. Place the graham crackers in a single layer, side-by-side, in the pan.

Twelve graham crackers should fill the pan pretty well with four rows of three graham crackers. Set the cookie sheet aside while you prepare the butter and sugar mixture.

Place the butter or margarine in a medium-sized pot. Place it on the stove and melt it over medium heat. Once the butter or margarine is melted, pour in the sugar (in these photos, granulated sugar was used).

Keep the pan over medium heat and let the mixture come to a gentle boil, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Stir the mixture on the stove top until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove the butter and sugar mixture from the stove and immediately pour it over the graham crackers. Use the wooden spoon to spread the mixture evenly over the graham crackers.

Place the cookie sheet into the oven. Let the graham crackers bake for around 8 minutes, or until they are bubbly around the edges.

While the graham crackers are in the oven, unwrap the candy bars. If you are using full-sized candy bars, break the squares apart. You will also want to open the package of marshmallows and the M&Ms.

Once the graham crackers are bubbling around the edges, remove the pan from the oven. Quickly place the candy bars, scattered, all over the top of the graham crackers. Make sure you do not touch them after the put them in place because they will melt and get messy.

Valentine Smores Place Chocolate Bars

As soon as you have all of the chocolate bars placed, sprinkle the marshmallows and the M&Ms over the hot graham crackers. Use as many, or as few, marshmallows and M&Ms as you like. Let your Valentine’s Day s’more bark cool completely.
