Apple Marshmallow Pops Recipe

Apple Marshmallow Pops Recipe
If you are planning a fall party or gathering, or just want to make a special treat for your family, consider making a batch or two of these apple marshmallow pops. Not only are they adorable, they are delicious! These yummy pops could work with a Halloween or Thanksgiving theme too! For decorations to match a fall party theme, try browsing fun local stores, or looking online at companies like Shutterfly. You can create custom plates, cups, and coasters to match any party idea you’re going for.

Gather together the ingredients you need, gather the kids together, and you can all make these apple treats. While a typical marshmallow pop has a stick to hold on to, this recipe calls for you to remove the stick and replace it with a stem which you can then use as a stick if you like.

Ingredients Needed to Make Ten Apple Marshmallow Pops:

  • 10 large marshmallows
  • 10 lollipop sticks
  • 12 oz. Wilton red chocolate candy melts
  • Wax paper
  • 5 Tootsie Rolls
  • 10 Green chocolate candies (such as M&M’s)

Follow These Directions:

Start out by inserting a lollipop stick into one of the flat sides of each marshmallow and then set them aside. Cover a small cookie sheet or a large plate with was paper.

In a microwave safe dish, heat the red chocolate candy melts in 30 second increments. Stir every 30 seconds until melted. My microwave took about 2 1/2 – 3 minutes. Make sure you follow the directions printed on the chocolate candy melts package. Let the chocolate cool about 3 minutes before dipping your marshmallows.

Dip each marshmallow, one at a time, in the red chocolate. Use a small spoon to help cover the marshmallow completely and let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. After dipping, place the chocolate-covered marshmallow on the wax paper covered cookie sheet or plate. Immediately add one green chocolate candy next to the candy stick for a leaf.

Once you have all ten marshmallows covered with red chocolate and a green candy, place the plate or cookie sheet in the refrigerator. Keep them in there for about 30 minutes so the chocolate sets.

While the chocolate is setting up, unwrap your five Tootsie Rolls and cut them in half. Use your hand to roll each half into a stem shape. Try to roll one end into a point. Place them on a small plate and put them in the fridge 10-15 minutes to harden a bit.

Remove the marshmallows and Tootsie Roll halves from the fridge. Carefully pull the candy stick out of each marshmallow and replace it with a Tootsie Roll ‘stem’. Make sure the more pointed end goes into the marshmallow.

If not serving these immediately, make sure you store them in a cool, dry place so the chocolate does not melt.

Enjoy!
